hi erin,
it depends on which derivative you are talking about.
we make mp3+ogg and mp4+ogv
and with our new player we can only set one duration even if the durations between the mp4 and ogv are slightly different (which they often are).

if we set to either or min of the two when they differ, the player treats that as a "end playback early" signal (and does so). this caused a longrunning early bug that was hard to track down/replicate for us.

so now we take the max of the two values.
the player will still stop in the right place, at the inconvenience of some minor cosmetic issues.

BTW, we should talk about your S3 robot (I think it may be yours 8-)
